Below Chad "Emer" Reilly is the state motto "Oro y Plato," meaning gold and silver. Both the motto and colors of this piece are pulled from the state flag. The state flower, bitterroot, creates the pattern on his tie and the lapel pin is an elk head with a shovel and pick axe forming a cross below. Both the motto and mining tools hint at MT's history and present economy surrounding coal and hard rock mining.
